Although I am not from Bloomington Normal, going to Miller Park to play with Henry raises all kinds of sense memories because the equipement is at least as old as I am. The slide has the same rolled metal edge as the slide I used at Isaac Walton. Five foot tall platforms have completely open sides, lending tension to play. This equipment is probably an endangered relic of the 1970s or 1980s as the new playground to the north takes shape.

But is it sitting on concrete or ground as hard as concrete? It's not truly vintage unless you can crack open your skull simply by falling off. Those pesky lawyers!
Nah, it's on mulch.
That looks so very much like the playground from where I grew up! Funny! Those have all been swapped out around here for un-fun looking plastic things.
*sighs*
Hey - congratulations on the bar!!! As a CPA, I know how grueling professional examinations can be.
Also, I hear you on playgrounds. Some of the new ones take all the FUN away by making them SAFE. Bah. :-)
Hi! I just re-found your blog through Transmogriflaw's, for some reason I couldn't get to it through your comments on my blog. I knew it was floating around in cyberspace somewhere!
And congrats on the bar :)
I just typed a whole two paragraphs for my paper, so I'm taking a bloggy work break. At this pace I'll finish them during my 5L year.
And your son is Adorable!
Great work.
