Quinn's first birthday

Quinn turned one on Friday. It was a low key birthday because we're low key people and it's his first birthday. He doesn't know what's up. The night before I was feeling productive so I made ribs for dinner, mashed potatoes from home grown potatoes, and a lemon pie. His actual birthday wasn't a very good day because it's Friday and the end of a very hot week were we didn't leave the house at all. Fridays are really tough days for me when I'm an at home parent. The day after his birthday Mom brought cupcakes over and we had another celebratory dinner.

Quinn had his well baby appointment Monday and it was super. He is 32 inches tall and 30 lbs. He is at the very top of the height chart and WAY off the weight chart. All his skills are ahead of the curve now. He is walking skillfully. He can side step obstacles and carry objects. He is getting a longer memory and it shows in his activities. One day he carried stuffed animals from the living room to the kitchen and put them inside the cabinets. Another day he picked up shoes and put them in the shoe basket.
